Discussion will focus on veterans

SALEM - Several Mid-Valley veterans and family members will discuss military issues in a roundtable meeting organized by the Oregon campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
The program will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Anderson Room B of the Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty St. SE. It is open to the public.
Scheduled participants are Paul Evans, an Air National Guard veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; Mo Fennerty, a Gold Star mother, whose son Sean Patrick Fennerty was killed in Iraq this year; Sgt. Benjamin Hier, a National Guard veteran of Afghanistan; retired Col. Don Holden, an Army veteran of World War II and Korea, and grandfather of an Iraq War veteran; Capt. Dmitry White, an Army veteran of Iraq, and Sarah White, an Army spouse.
