Evans believes in stewardship of land

October 25, 2006State Senate candidate Paul Evans is the Democratic candidate for District 10. He's also a guy who grew up in Polk County, hunting and fishing, with a deep love of the land. He wants to make sure it's protected for generations to come.
As an avid hunter myself and member of several groups that protect and enhance wildlife habitat, this counts for a lot.
I'm not a member of the NRA, but I looked up the National Rifle Association's endorsements.
You might be surprised to find that Evans is a Democrat with an "A" rating from the NRA. This doesn't surprise me, because responsibility, self-reliance and stewardship are ideas I've heard from him.
After all, he has served Oregon and the nation with honor as a member of the Oregon Air National Guard.
Since the Democrats will control the Oregon state Senate, shouldn't we elect a Democrat who will support the rights of hunters and gun owners?
