Evans scores better on environment
Statesman Journal
October 25, 2006

I've figured out the competing claims of Jackie Winters and Paul Evans on one of the issues.

While Winters likes to describe herself as friendly to the environment, her voting record says otherwise.

In the 2003 session, Winters scored zero percent on the Oregon League of Conservation Voters Scorecard (OLCV). Zero.

Wrong votes on water and air quality, wrong votes on land use, wrong votes on salmon habitat. None right.

In the 2005 session Winters progressed to voting wrong four out of five times on critical environmental issues, including water quality, air quality, land use and wildlife.

While Winters likes to talk about working for Tom McCall, her votes throughout her first term in the Senate dishonor the legacy McCall left us. Obviously, Winters is faking on the environment.

Fortunately, we can vote for Paul Evans. While Evans didn't work for Tom McCall, he will vote and act as a genuine steward of the McCall legacy.

Endorsed enthusiastically by the OLCV, Paul Evans is the only real environmental advocate in Senate District 10. That's why I'm going to vote for him.
