Evans packs a full schedule while on leave from the Air Force

MONMOUTH -- "Bathroom breaks are optional," said Monmouth Mayor Paul Evans.

Evans has filled just about every spare minute of his first trip home since leaving for New Mexico to serve with the Air Force Reserve in September.

This is the schedule he's posted for people who want to get ahold of him:

Sunday, Jan. 6
9 to 10:25 a.m.: Coffee at Rick's Place.
10:30 to noon: Church at Monmouth Christian Church.
Noon to 1:30 p.m.: U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden Town Hall Meeting at the Polk County Courthouse.
5 to 10 p.m.: Family time.

Monday, Jan. 7
7 to 8 a.m.: Breakfast at Big Jim's Cafe with "All-Hands Crew" (including Independence Mayor John McArdle, Polk County Commissioner Tom Ritchey, Independence Police Chief Vern Wells, Monmouth City Manager Jeff Hecksel, Polk County No. 1 Fire Chief Mark Prince, Central Superintendent Forrest Bell, Monmouth Interim Police Chief Darrel Tallan.)
9 to 10 a.m.: Meeting with U.S. Rep. Darlene Hooley's staff.
10:15 to 11:30 a.m.: Meeting with legislators and staff.
11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.: Lunch at the Ram Pub with friends.
1:15 to 2:30 p.m.: Meeting with U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden's staff.
2:30 to 3:30 p.m.: Visit to Western Oregon University.
4 to 5 p.m.: Meeting with University President Betty Youngblood.
6 to 9 p.m.: Open house at Evans' home.

Tuesday, Jan. 8
7 to 8 a.m.: Breakfast at J's with community leaders.
9 to 10 a.m.: Visit to Monmouth Elementary School first-graders.
10 to noon: Visit with Monmouth Public Works/Electric Department.
Noon to 1 p.m.: Lunch with the Rev. Stan Peterson.
2 to 3 p.m.: Visit to Monmouth Police Department.
2 to 4 p.m.: Meeting with Monmouth City Manager Jeff Hecksel.
4 to 4:45 p.m.: Visit to Monmouth Public Library.
5 to 6 p.m.: Dinner with student government leaders from Western Oregon University.
7:15 to 10 p.m.: Monmouth City Council meeting.
10 to 11 p.m.: Post-meeting pizza at Mendi's.

Wednesday, Jan. 9
6 to 7:30 a.m.: Breakfast with Butch and Julie Evans.
8 to 10 a.m.: Coffee & Community at Rick's Place.
11 to 11:30 a.m.: Meeting with State Rep. Lane Shetterly.
11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Meeting with Polk County commissioners.
1 to 2 p.m.: Chamber of Commerce forum.
2:30 to 3 p.m.: Meeting with Polk County Fire District No. 1 Chief Mark Prince.
4 to 4:20 p.m.: Meeting with Senate President Gene Derfler.
5 to 5:55 p.m.: Meeting with Western faculty at Lenora's Ghost.
6 to 8 p.m.: Dinner with family and friends.
9 to midnight: Canasta night.

Thursday, Jan. 10
6 to 7 a.m.: Breakfast with friends and family.
