Nature Haiku

Renewal
Exhausted winter
Storm whispers replaced with hope
Colorful spring bloom

Sunrise
Burnt orange hues give birth
Beacon of hope meets the dawn
Glorious new day

Labor
Hands worn rough with time
Years of hard work; planting fields
For tomorrow's hope

Soldier Haiku

Duty
They said go
He answered the call
Winter howls

American Son
Homemade apple pie
Old Glory waving proudly
Star-spangled innocence

Patriotic Impulses
Earnest young men act
Crusading vengeance ablaze
Freedom must endure

A Just Cause
Star-spangled children
Heartfelt promises to keep
Liberty awaits

Reciprocity
Terror day arouses hope
Countless acts of tender valor
Rekindled union

A Tour
Simple tasks to do
Hostile surroundings to tame
Expensive freedom

A Bad Day
Ambushed soldiers fume
Makeshift armor incomplete
Heroes forsaken

All Hell
Combat whispers death
Unforgiving fields of war
Souls lost in battle

Convoy
Ugly desert road
Precious blood spilled in folly
War is all sorrow

Unprotected
Sour soldiers worn old
Emperors tan clothes threadbare
Truth falls on deaf ears

The Real Cost
At home a wife prays
Fields of war consume good men
A new widow mourns
